Blaq updated with new features and improvements

Kisai Labs has just released a nice update to their very popular BlackBerry 10 Twitter client, Blaq. This
update brings some additions, enhancements as well as a ton of fixes. You can check out the changelog below.
Additions

• Compose in hub – Now you can compose your tweets directly from the hub with Blaq.
• Classic active frame – For those of you who enjoyed the simplicity of the original active frame, it’s now back!

Enhancements

• Battery drain fixes
• Search field is focused automatically on physical keyboard devices
• Instead of selecting specific directories for the photo picker, the Pictures view is now used by default.

Tons of fixes (including):

• Hub “account restore” notifications
• Duplicate hub icons
• Unable to add/remove users from lists
• Inability to open hub items
• Accounts not set up on devices still receiving notifications

Best All in One BlackBerry 10 Utility App

Instead of creating a bunch of one off utilities he created them all in one toolbox.

The Power Tools apps packs in a text and email blocker, battery monitor, custom alarms, Bluetooth schedule, LED Colors, Screen lock, custom call settings, custom scheduled profiles, wallpaper scheduling, picture resizing, file shredder and more. The only downside is that the app needs to be running as an active frame to work. The developer promises to do his best to support headless apps when it becomes available and BlackBerry approves their app.

• Message Blocker – Block Text and Email. Detail log file to keep track of blocked messages. You can view and delete the log file.
• Alarm – Create custom Alarms for Daily, Weekdays and Weekly.
• Bluetooth – Control when to turn on and off Bluetooth Daily, Weekdays and Weekly.
• LED Color – Add color LED to incoming Text, Email, Facebook LinkedIn, Twitter or Accounts. Customize LED for Contacts with Vibrate and Ringtone.
• Screen Lock – Add custom sounds when screen is locked, unlocked and password locked.
• Sound Profile – Schedule and Manage system Sound Profiles. Turn system sound to Vibrate or Silent at nights, Normal in the morning, set Vibrate at the Office, Silent at Church on Sundays, Alert Offs for weekly Staff meeting etc… Sound Profile switching is automated.
• Wallpaper – Set custom wallpaper on every minute, 5 minutes up to 8 hours, set time to change only Daily, Weekdays or Weekly. You can optionally add the Battery percentage and current date to the wallpaper. Note: Due to OS10.2 changes when changing wallpapers a Toast message is displayed.
• Picture Resize – Resize a single picture from the Pictures, File Manager or any apps that has Share or Open In feature.
• File Shredder – The ultimate personal security. When you delete a file from the Pictures or File Manager app the content is not erased therefore it is possible to recover the deleted file and view the content. By shredding the file it would make it impossible to recover the content. File Shredder will write to the physical location of the files with random data many files over so the content can not be recovered.

Blaq for BlackBerry 10 Review

Blaq continues the tradition of being the premiere Twitter client on BlackBerry with its latest version. It does away with  the standard Cascades UI and instead opts for its own take on gesture-based navigation.

Pulling the main feed to one side reveals standard navigation tabs - mentions, lists, home, your profile... stuff like that. Pulling to the left shows a list of actions that can be executed depending on which tweet your were pressing on originally. dragging up or down from there lets you select reply, retweet, favorite, or quote tweet, and releasing launches into the action. Along the top is a timeline showing where you are in your feed, and tapping it lets you zip backup to the most recent tweets easily.

Blaq is a sharply-designed, modern, and unique app and is extremely impressive, even outside the sphere of Twitter apps.

Twitter and LinkedIn for BlackBerry 10 Updated

It's always good to see updates for big apps like these, and we'll take them any day of the week. Both will be populating in BlackBerry World over the next 24 hours, so if you don't see the updates available just yet then check back a bit later.

• Follow and learn about companies :An important element of LinkedIn is the ability to connect to companies and subscribe for company related updates and content. The latest version of LinkedIn for BlackBerry 10 allows you to view information about the companies you follow in greater detail
• Other Updates: We’ve made quite a few additional updates to LinkedIn for BlackBerry 10.
